Deere & Co. is on an acquisition mode, announcing Nov. 3 that it would acquire Monosem, a European manufacturer of precision planters.
The purchase includes the firm’s four facilities in France and two in the United States.
Under the arrangement, Monosem will retain its independence as well as its own brand and trademark, according to a press release.
About a week earlier, John Deere announced it planned to acquire Precision Planting LLC from the Climate Corp., a subsidiary of Monsanto. As part of the deal, John Deere farm equipment would have near real-time data connectivity with the Climate FieldView platform.
