Nominations sought for 2017 Louisiana Hall of Distinction

Nominations are being sought for the 2017 Louisiana Hall of Distinction through Nov. 21. Selected individuals will be recognized during a banquet at L’Auberge Hotel in Baton Rouge on March 2, 2017.

A joint effort among the Louisiana State University AgCenter, Louisiana Radio Network, Louisiana Farm Bureau and the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, the Hall of Distinction honors individuals who have made significant contributions to agriculture or agriculture-related industries. Nominees can represent farming, ranching, forestry, aquaculture, fisheries, education or agribusiness.

In 2016, three individuals were recognized: Willie Cooper, Louisiana Farm Services Agency Director for 42 years; Ruben Dauzat, owner/operator of Wayside Farms of Hamburg; and Raymond Hensgens, who established G& H Seed Co. in Acadia Parish.
