After receiving recent U.S. Environmental Protection Agency approval, Valent U.S.A. recently launched Fierce MTZ Herbicide as a stand-alone liquid formulation.
The Walnut Creek, California-based registrant plans to launch the premix of Fierce Herbicide and metribuzin for the 2019 growing season, according to a news release. Fierce itself is a premix of flumioxazin and pyroxasulfone, belonging to Group 14 and 15, respectively. Metribuzin belongs to the Weed Science Society of America’s Group 5.
Fierce MTZ provides residual control of tough and resistant broadleaf weeds and annual grasses, including Palmer amaranth, common waterhemp, common and giant ragweed, and kochia for up to eight weeks, according to the release.
It also offers flexibility for crop rotation with limited carryover and rotational restrictions. In addition, the liquid formulation provides easy mixing and loading.
