First-Time Oklahoma Soybean Farmer Finds 5-Bean Pod

Lonnie-Ingram When first-time soybean farmer Lonnie Ingram of Braman, Okla., walked into his field of Asgrow Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield soybeans, he was surprised with what he found: a five-bean pod.

“I walked into the field to see if I was going to have any beans to harvest because of our severe drought, looked down and noticed a pod that looked unusually long. It just happened to be a five-bean pod,” says Ingram, a former refinery company national sales manager who took over the farm following the recent death of his father-in-law. “There were also quite a few four-bean pods in that same field.”

Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield trait technology gives farmers increased yield potential with the prospect for more three-, four- and even five-bean pods per plant compared with original Roundup Ready® soybean trait technology. The result is more bushels per acre for soybean farmers.5-bean-pod

Regarding his decision to plant Asgrow Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield technology this season, Ingram notes: “I did a lot of research and was interested in trying this technology. I’ll definitely plant these soybeans again next season.” He also credits his Asgrow seed dealer, Jim Curl, for being a great mentor.
