DowDuPont announces new name for ag division spin off

Dow DuPontThe agricultural division of DowDuPont, the company created when Dow and DuPont merged, will have a new name come this summer – Corteva Agriscience.

As part of the merger, three divisions will be created. DowDuPont expects to spin off the ag division by June 1, with the new name becoming effective then, according to a news release.

The material science division will be called Dow and will retain the Dow diamond logo. The specialty products division will be called DuPont.

Corteva brings together DuPont Crop Protection, DuPont Pioneer and Dow AgroSciences.

The ag company will be headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, home of the former DuPont Crop Protection. Sites in Johnston, Iowa, and Indianapolis, Indiana, will serve as global business centers.

“We will continue to invest in some of the most recognized and premium brands in agriculture: Pioneer, Mycogen, and the newly launched Brevant seed brands, as well as our award-winning Crop Protection products, such as Aproach Prima fungicide and Quelex herbicide with Arylex active, while bringing new products to market through our solid pipeline of active chemistry and technologies,” James C. Collins Jr., chief operating officer, DowDuPont Agriculture Division, said in a news release.
