Webcast examines complexities of data collection, prescriptive farming

Focus on Soybean logoThe Plant Management Network has launched a new “Focus on Soybean” webcast that examines the complexities of data collection and prescriptive farming methods.

Narrated by Dr. John Fulton, an associate professor in Ohio State University’s Food, Agriculture and Biological Engineering Department, the 33-minute online presentation can be found at www.planmanagementnetwork.org.

The webcast provides an overview of the types of agricultural data commonly tracked and how they can be used to evaluate and inform management practices.

The presentation specifically discusses:

• Best practices in data collection, accessibility, and retention

• Advantages of blending data types to provide unique insights

• Importance of clean, organized, and comprehensive data sets

The webinar will remain open access through Aug. 31.

Focus on Soybean is a collaborative effort among the American Phytopathological Society, the American Society of Agronomy and the Crop Science Society of America.
